Summary
The Supervisor, Ocean Carrier Services I is responsible for overseeing vessel and port operations, supporting management reporting and decision-making, and coordinating strategic operational initiatives across assigned U.S. and Canadian markets. The role actively supports new projects and service development while building and leveraging strong relationships with customers, ports, terminals, vendors, and industry partners to improve operational performance and identify new business opportunities.
Oversee vessel schedules, port calls, and cargo operations across assigned U.S. and Canadian ports to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable execution.
Review berth availability, terminal schedules, vessel requirements, and operational constraints to identify risks and recommend optimal operating plans.
Coordinate with terminals, ports, stevedores, vessel operators, agents, and vendors to minimize delays and resolve operational issues.
Lead and support new projects and service development, including operational feasibility reviews, implementation planning, and follow-up.
Build and maintain a strong professional network with ports, terminals, customers, vendors, and industry partners to support operations and identify new opportunities.
Prepare management-level reports and recommendations on vessel performance, project status, operational risks, costs, and key business issues.
Monitor operational KPIs, costs, and service performance to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Coordinate cross-functional activities with Operations, Commercial, Settlement, Logistics, HQ, and other stakeholders.
Provide day-to-day guidance and work coordination to OCS team members and support resolution of complex operational issues.
Ensure compliance with company policies, maritime regulations, documentation requirements, and port authority requirements.
Support development, review, and implementation of SOPs, operational guidelines, project procedures, and reporting standards.
Participate in internal business reviews, management meetings, customer meetings, port/terminal visits, and vendor discussions as required.
Support Commercial teams with operational information for customer proposals, RFQs, new service development, and business evaluations.
Support audits, compliance reviews, and internal control activities related to vessel and cargo operations.
Coordinate special operational studies, benchmarking activities, and market/port research as assigned.
Maintain key stakeholder and vendor contacts to support operational continuity and new project development.
Support contingency planning and business continuity activities.Provide additional operational, project, and management reporting support as required.
$70,000 - $85,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
