The Supervisor, Nursing Services provides leadership, direction, and coordination of nursing care in the assigned department. This role oversees clinical and operational activities, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care. The Supervisor is responsible for managing nursing staff, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting continuous quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions
- Manages the daily clinical and operational activities of the nursing department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to established care standards.
- Promotes a culture of safety and quality by monitoring patient care, initiating improvements, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Ensures that nursing staff have the necessary resources, information, and support to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Conducts quality assurance reviews, evaluates performance data, and implements changes to improve patient outcomes and department efficiency.
- Manages clinical resources, including supplies, equipment, and personnel, to optimize patient care and minimize waste.
- Leads and participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives, supporting organizational goals and regulatory standards.
- Oversees the integration and supervision of clinical affiliate students, ensuring compliance with educational agreements and fostering a learning environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities
- Supervision and Staff Management
- Supervises, trains and oversees departmental staff.
- Schedules employees to ensure effective use of resources. Consults with Manager or Director on staffing issues.
- Assists with and contributes to performance evaluations and goal setting.
- Strategic Planning and Financial Oversight
- Assists in managing departmental budget ensuring cost-effective operations while maintain high quality service.
- Monitors expenditures, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.
- May contribute to evaluation and implementation of new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- May contribute to development of departmental policies, procedures and protocols.
- Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies.
- May participate in audits, inspections and accreditation processes as applicable.
- Follows established quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency and safety.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Works closely with leadership teams to coordinate and improve service delivery.
- Stays up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Staff Responsibilities
- May work in a staff role, when required. Ensures that duties and responsibilities are fulfilled while meeting all competencies established for that job.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher preferred
- 1-2 years of related experience in the profession required
- 1-2 years of previous leadership experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BLS - Basic Life Support required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
