In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Supervisor, MRI is responsible for continuous quality improvement, providing 100% customer satisfaction and 100% quality by acting as a coach and facilitator for techs working the bench by evaluating and reviewing all work in the designated section; maintaining quality control within the section to include evaluating equipment, procedures and section staff; performing tests and operating equipment. Maintain screening forms and safety paperwork on all employees who may enter the MRI suite.  Working with all physicians to Maintain proper protocols. Exhibits the Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:
- Maintain advanced level of MRI technical knowledge and skills and acts as a liaison between radiologist and techs for evaluating/developing protocols.
- Complies with State and Federal regulations and licensure requirements of MRI.
- Responsible for teaching, training, and developing MRI technologist and students to perform basic and high-level technical procedures and computer applications.
- Follow daily MRI charges and make any corrections in the proper amount of time.
- Develop new plans and protocols anytime we have the ability to do new exams. This includes but isn’t limited to building new exams with CWS, billing, and ITS.
- Provide front line staff with a liaison between them and Diagnostic Imaging director.
- Provide Staff with all equipment and supplies needed to do daily job duties.
- Assumes responsibility of the safety of colleagues and patients in designated work area.
- Performs MRI procedures as required.
- Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance the knowledge of MRI staff to be up to date on the continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies.
- Coordinates the scheduling of MRI exams with technical, clerical, and other support staff in tasks associated with the department procedures: prioritizes all inpatient, outpatient, ED, anesthesia, and Pacemaker patients.
- Monitors and identifies proper patient status during procedures.  Maintains accurate records and completes computer related duties to ensure proper charging, patient tracking and reporting.
- Reviews and maintains proper CPT codes for MRI procedures.
- Maintains all required ODH licenses and participates in departmental inspections ODH, HCAC, and any other governing bodies.
- Ensures proper usage, maintenance, and updates of medical equipment.
- Work with all service engineers to maintain the standards needed to keep the MRI machines operational.
- Work with OR director, nurse anesthetist, and Anesthesiologist to provide proper care and processes for MRI patients undergoing anesthesia.
- Work with CWS to keep proper schedule builds where all MRI equipment is being used at Full capacity. Also, to keep MRI schedules full and operational.
- Maintains quality control testing and correct documentation for such.
- Initiates patients teaching including family members and or significant others.  Holds frontline staff accountable for doing the same.
- All policies and procedures are reviewed or updated annually.
- Has the authority and responsibility to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct, or recommend such actions by using independent judgment.
- Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employee’s job performance.
- Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

QualificationsMinimum Education/Experience Required:
- Current radiologic licensure from the State of Ohio Department of Health required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or actively in process of obtaining required; with the exception of our Grandfathered employees in the position hired prior to January 1, 2023.
- ARRT with MRI Certification required.
- Two years of MRI technologist experience required.
- BLS certification required.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:
- The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the diagnostic imaging area.
Compensation Details:  Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
