Job Description

OSITION OBJECTIVE

Efficiently manage resources, product control, and the implementation of improvements, adding value to all production processes in accordance with the standards and quality and safety regulations established by the company, in order to achieve the goals and objectives established for the Manufacturing department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position may include responsibility for supervising Manufacturing personnel (up to 20-25 employees)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate in controlling work-in-process product across all assigned production lines to ensure compliance with priorities and identify potential constraints.
  • Ensure production-line results in order to monitor compliance with the Production Plan.
  • Evaluate and implement changes to procedures, catalogs, First Article, First Shipment First Article, and other process-improvement opportunities, ensuring they are carried out promptly and appropriately to reduce operating costs.
  • Act as the SME for the assigned production lines by clarifying procedures, techniques, and processes to ensure the proper execution of tasks within the production line, as well as providing project support.
  • Provide support in managing production capacity in order to coordinate production commitments with the Logistics department.
  • Provide support during external or internal audits required by the regulatory authority, acting as the SME for the assigned areas.
  • Lead departmental improvement initiatives, such as SWAT, Operating Supplies, and any other initiatives aligned with the company’s objectives. Lead improvement teams and achieve the goals established by the department.
  • In the event of deviations from procedures in the assigned areas, investigate the event and identify preventive and corrective actions to eliminate the root cause.
  • Ensure the timely disposition of held material in accordance with the company’s quality system, while always ensuring product quality and prudent resource management.
  • Provide Human Resources support to contribute to onboarding processes, position changes, and other situations that arise within the assigned area.
  • Promote the motivation of assigned employees by ensuring that behaviors encouraged by AbbVie’s culture are reinforced and recognized in a timely manner, both formally and informally.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legal EHS requirements through adherence to internal policies and procedures. Also ensure compliance through the implementation of necessary strategies, internal controls, communication, and training.
  • Perform all other duties inherent to the position and any additional duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, in order to make the best possible use of departmental resources.

Qualifications

Education, Professional Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Production Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • At least two years of knowledge and experience in the medical-device industry.
  • At least two years of experience managing personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least one year of experience in Quality, preferred.
  • Master’s degree studies in a field related to Manufacturing, preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality-management systems and regulated environments, including GMP, QSR, FDA, ISO, and CAPA.

  • Availability to a fix term contract (6 months)
  • Availability to work in shift B1: Monday to Friday 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm & Saturday 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
