What you’ll do in this role:

The Engineering Supervisor has daily responsibility for providing direct supervision to engineers and engineering technicians in one or more value streams, departments, or functions, supporting the achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People performance goals. Through strong cross-functional leadership competencies and adherence to Integer Values, you coordinate the alignment of resources and equipment in the most efficient and effective manner to achieve your functional goals. The supervisor is the primary interface between the engineers and engineering technicians and the other functions aligning to support ongoing manufacturing operations.

Build & develop teams:

  • You will be supervising, coaching, and directing a team of engineering technicians and engineers in support of one or more product lines or process areas within a manufacturing site.
  • As part of your responsibilities, you will establish daily/weekly/monthly objectives for your team members and ensure effective communications throughout the team. An element of these objectives include providing the active support for each of your direct reports to aspire to accomplish his/her Individual Development Plans as a roadmap to professional and personal skill’s development.
  • You are the first level support for resolving day-to-day issues as they are raised by members of your team and, after assessing the situation, you may seek cross functional and/or organizational support for resolution. To be successful, you will possess the technical understanding and the ability to apply procedures and concepts within your own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines.

  • You recognize that what you do not audit, does not happen, so a key element of your Leader Standard Work is to conduct audits of processes and product, including, but not limited to, 5S, Safety, Quality, and Engineering best practices, to ensure your team members and other Associates in the site adhere to Integer’s policies and procedures.
  • You will ensure ongoing training and development opportunities are afforded your team to ensure all are kept aware of latest standards, policies, procedures, technologies and job aids.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the execution and continuous improvement of maintenance and facilities operations, ensuring safe, complaint, and reliable operation of all production equipment and facility systems.

This role will oversee and coordinate maintenance and facilities associates and is accountable for equipment reliability, maintenance system performance, and workforce effectiveness, transitioning the organization from reactive maintenance to a structured, data-driven reliability model.

Accountability & Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to Integer Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains function and reliability of production equipment and facility systems, by implementing and executing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; and restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
  • Responsible for ensuring successful functioning of equipment, maintaining satisfactory use of various systems and equipment Operational Availability, Mean Time between Failure (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Manages staff performance, development, and training to ensure a highly skilled and engaged workforce. Supervises work of Associates, assigning and scheduling tasks efficiently; and coaching and mentoring team to successfully complete all deliverables.
  • Coordinates and oversees the work of contractors to assure schedules are met and work is completed according to specifications and in adherence to appropriate safety procedures; ensures that service contracts are favorable and offer quality services at competitive prices.
  • Coordinates facility maintenance and upgrades. Responsible for the preparation of appropriate paperwork submission (CAR) for these projects and monitor projects’ progress.
  • Employs the strategies of 5S in order to maintain an efficient, clean work area, well-ordered and maintains the correct types and number of spare parts.
  • Coordinate and maintain the proper methods, procedures and handling of non-hazardous waste in the facility and removal of waste from the facility.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in technical studies relating to the Maintenance field.
  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years in an Engineering or Maintenance Technician position at a manufacturing facility.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Special Skills:
    • Mechanical ability, leadership, attention to detail, communication skills, negotiation skills, computer skills.
  • Specialized Knowledge:
    • Working knowledge of maintenance and facilities systems, including CNC machine tools, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC systems, electrical distribution, and plant utilities/water systems;
    • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
