Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor ensures completion of planned maintenance work selected for the daily schedule through maintenance coordination. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance team, ensuring the seamless continuation of work in progress as outlined in the work schedule. This role includes the prompt execution of emergency work orders received directly from Operations, requiring quick decision-making and effective resource allocation. The Supervisor holds full management responsibility for their crew, including ensuring safety compliance, maintaining high standards of work quality and efficiency, assessing team skills, facilitating training and development, and handling administrative personnel matters. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational continuity and supporting the overall performance of the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures adherence to safety policies and protocols so that jobs are performed safely.

Discusses functional assignments with the Planner on complex job packages and reports craft recommendations to Planner for improving work procedures and plans.

Manages the daily work schedule, informs craft of work assignments, and ensures work order workflow adherence

Ensures that plant equipment, tools, and materials are available before starting a job and follows up on jobs to determine progress and status of the daily work.

Keeps stakeholders informed on deviations to scheduled activities and communicates KPI performance.

Coordinates and completes emergency and urgent (break-in) jobs in an efficient manner.

Reviews work packages of planned work orders and recommends necessary changes and ensures work packages are accurately completed and returned promptly.

Participates in root cause analyses for consequential and/or assigned incidents.

Manages craft training and development and ensures annual skills assessment completion.

Acts as a Management Representative during off-business hours (such as weekends and holidays)and manages daily operations including safety adherence, work scheduling, progress tracking, team member communication and engagement, team member timecard management, job coordination, training and development, performance management, resource allocation, and acts as the first point of escalation for personnel issues.

Required Education & Experience

Minimum education level: High school diploma

Minimum years of experience: 5 years experience in industrial maitenance

Preferred Education & Experience

Preferred education level: Associate’s degree or higher

Licenses/Certificates: Certified Maintenance Technician (CMT) or similar certification

Preferred years of experience: 8 plus years in industrial maintenance
