The Supervisor, Mail Order Pharmacy Operations manages day-to-day supervision of a team and directs workflow of team leads, pharmacy technicians, support, and administrative staff. This role is responsible for leading all inventory control activities to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient material management across the facility. This position oversees cycle counting, slotting, RGM, IRP, SAP data integrity, DSCSA compliance, and workload distribution among materials coordinators. The role also ensures adherence to operational and regulatory procedures, supports power industrial equipment oversight, manages Production Supply financials and provides flexible, extended-hour availability for operational support and cross‑functional conference calls.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control & System Accuracy

o Oversee all daily inventory control activities including cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, and root‑cause analysis.

o Maintain accurate SAP system transactions including receipts, adjustments, transfers, and RGM IRP data updates.

o Manage slotting strategy, including location optimization, replenishment logic, and warehouse layout efficiency.

o Ensure timely reconciliation of system versus physical inventory.

o Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with Procurement and Call Strategy teams to support planning and material flow alignment.

DSCSA Monitoring & Compliance

o Monitor and maintain compliance with DSCSA (Drug Supply Chain Security Act) requirements for receiving, storage, traceability, and transaction documentation.

o Investigate, document, and escalate suspect or illegitimate product events, ensuring required reporting steps are followed.

o Partner with Quality and Compliance teams to support audits, investigations, and regulatory reviews.

Leadership & Workload Coordination

o Supervise, coach, and develop inventory control staff.

o Assign and balance daily workload across inventory control staff to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to priorities.

o Provide ongoing performance feedback, training, and skill development.

Power Industrial Equipment Oversight

o Monitor certification status, safe operation, and training compliance for power industrial equipment (PIT) users within Materials.

o Coordinate with Facilities/Safety to schedule training, renewals, and safety assessments.

o Support investigations and corrective actions for any equipment‑related incidents.

Process Documentation & Work Instructions

o Create, review, and maintain Work Instructions (WIs), SOPs, and job aids related to inventory control, slotting, DSCSA processes, SAP transaction workflows, and equipment handling.

o Ensure documents are compliant, clear, and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.

o Lead process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Flexibility & Cross‑Functional Support

o Provide extremely flexible and extended availability for operational support beyond standard hours, including weekends or after-hours as needed.

o Participate in cross‑functional conference calls, escalation meetings, and rapid-response problem solving.

o Serve as a primary point of contact for urgent inventory, system, or compliance-related issues.

Reporting & Improvement

o Prepare and analyze reports on inventory accuracy, cycle counting performance, slotting efficiency, and DSCSA compliance metrics.

o Identify improvement opportunities and lead corrective or preventive action implementation.

o Support physical inventories, recalls, and system data audits.

o Support onsite audits, partner with the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), and provide updates on audit findings and recommendations.

Required Qualifications

o3+ years of inventory control, warehouse, or materials experience.

o1+ year of supervisory or lead-level experience.

o Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

o Working knowledge of collaboration and teamwork

o Ability to support flexible and extended work hours.

oAbility to procure an Illinois Pharmacy Technician License prior to start date


Preferred Qualifications

o Experience with slotting, cycle counting, and SAP transactions.

o Understanding of DSCSA requirements (or willingness to learn).

oKnowledge of power industrial equipment certification requirements.

o Working knowledge of execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills

o Working knowledge of business intelligence

o Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills

o Adept at growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills


Education
oHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.

oBachelor's Degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$18.50 - $93,574.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
