Job Purpose:

The Supervisor Land Freight is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of land freight within the logistics cluster. This role ensures efficient utilization of trucks, timely delivery of goods, and maintains strong client relationships while upholding high standards of safety and compliance.

  • Arrange day-to-day operations and monitor truck utilization.
  • Verify packing lists and coordinate the required number and type of vehicles, executing tasks with the team.
  • Ensure all fleet requirements from clients and coordinators are met promptly and efficiently.
  • Arrange necessary trucks, manpower, and equipment before loading shipments, ensuring safe cargo handling.
  • Manage outsourced trucks and oversee their operations.
  • Issue delivery notes and ensure timely, accurate submission and job closure.
  • Submit all required documents (e.g., port delivery notes, payment receipts) after shipment delivery.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, providing necessary documents and reports.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics, work schedules, and monitor delivery timelines.
  • Respond to customer follow-ups, address delivery efficiency, and handle justified complaints.

Educational and Technical Qualifications:

  • Graduate, preferably with diplomas in logistics / shipping / export
  • Diploma or College degree Educated

Language Skills:

Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills and basic communication on English is required.

Years of Experience:

Work experience required: 3 -4 years working experience in logistics or supply chain • Ability to work flexible hours and in shifts required.

Nature of Experience:

- Proficiency in transportation management systems or logistics software.

- Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or administrative roles is an advantage.

- Knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards.
