Under the general direction of the Laboratory Director, coordinates the work performed in their respective section for all hospitals in the health system. Maintains procedure manuals and implements new procedures system wide according to the guidelines of the regulatory agencies. Supervises and participates in the evaluation of technical staff. Resolves equipment and procedure problems with service and technical representatives. Ensures an appropriate inventory of reagents and supplies. Accountable to serve as a technical/laboratory role model and resource in lab section. Supervises the activities of employees in a laboratory section ensuring timely, quality results and reports in compliance with all regulatory agencies and established policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge in technological advancements in specific laboratory discipline that may be incorporated into operations of that area. Responsible for the standardization of procedures and cross training of staff across the system.
