Title: Supervisor, Joint Use Construction


Base Salary:

$87,900 to $108,000 annually DOE

Job Summary


The Supervisor,
Joint Use is a critical leadership role within Ziply Fiber, responsible for
overseeing the safe, compliant, and efficient management of joint use
infrastructure across both aerial and underground networks. This position
ensures that all joint use activities align with the National Electrical Safety
Code (NESC), local jurisdictional requirements, and Ziply’s operational
standards.


The Supervisor
leads a blended team of internal employees and external contractors, fostering
a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence. The supervisor
is accountable for team performance, metric standards, and upholding the Ziply
brand. This role requires comfort with public speaking and being on camera to
represent Ziply, as well as managing contracts and negotiations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Performance
Management


·

Lead and supervise a diverse team of engineers,
coordinators, inspectors, contractors, and vendors by setting expectations,
performance metrics, and accountability; conduct meetings, reviews, and
coaching to drive continuous improvement and collaboration.


Joint Use Infrastructure, Operations,
and Compliance


·

Oversee the maintenance and development of
Ziply’s aerial and underground joint use infrastructure, ensuring all pole
attachments, removals, and relocations comply with NESC and local permitting
requirements; monitor field operations for safety and engineering standards
adherence.


·

Serve as the NESC compliance expert, guiding
code interpretation and application; lead annual OJUA training and maintain a
proactive compliance program to resolve violations before audits.


·

Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to
ensure alignment with evolving state and federal requirements.


·

Manage the full lifecycle of joint use work
orders from notification through construction and closeout; implement process
improvements to reduce cycle times, eliminate rework, and improve data
accuracy.


Reporting, Process Improvement, and
Revenue Optimization


·

Utilize dashboards and reporting tools to
monitor KPIs such as permit turnaround, violation clearance, and cost recovery.


·

Develop and execute strategies for proactive
permitting, bootleg attachment detection, cost recovery, and transform joint
use into a revenue-generating function.


Partner, Vendor, and Stakeholder
Engagement


·

Manage third-party attacher, utility partner,
and vendor relationships; negotiate and administer joint use agreements; track
contract compliance and vendor performance.


·

Serve as the primary escalation point for joint
use issues; communicate clearly with city officials, utility partners, and
community stakeholders.


·

Represent Ziply in public forums, municipal
meetings, and on-camera communications.


Other Duties

Performs other duties as
required to support the business and evolving organization.


Required Qualifications:


·

High school diploma or GED.


·

Bachelor’s degree or e

quivalent PM/OSP experience, including
engineering, splicing, and/or construction.


·

Minimum
of three (3) years’ experience in joint use, Outside Plant (OSP) construction,
or utility coordination.


·

Minimum
of one (1) year leading crews, contractors, or small teams.


·

Working knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards
and local permitting processes.


·

Familiarity with aerial and underground OSP construction and joint use
compliance.


·

Strong leadership skills with the ability to set expectations, coach,
and hold team members accountable.


·

Effective verbal and written communication skills, comfortable
representing the company publicly and on camera.


·

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple
priorities.


·

Negotiation skills for contracts and vendor relationships.


·

Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.


·

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially Excel.

Work Environment:


Work is performed in an office setting with

keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a
modern office setting.
