JANITOR SUPERVISOR

Demonstrate sound knowledge of various cleaning methods and excellent communication skills in the supervision of janitorial employees. Ultimately, an outstanding janitorial supervisor will display effective leadership skills to ensure the timely completion of staffs’ janitorial duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in janitorial services.
• Assigns janitorial work to employees, following material and work requirements.
• Inspects work performed to ensure conformance to specifications and established standards.
• Recommends personnel actions, such as hires and discharges, to ensure proper staffing.
• Trains workers in janitorial methods and procedures and proper operation of equipment.
• Issues janitorial supplies and equipment to workers to ensure quality and timely delivery of services.
• Attending meetings and in-service training sessions as required.
• Performing all janitorial duties necessary in instances of staff shortages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 2 years of experience working as a Janitorial Supervisor preferred.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of various cleaning methods.
• The ability to lift heavy equipment.
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
