Job Description

Who are we?

At Vertiv, we’re on a mission to empower the people that will power the future. From a simple swipe to life-changing medicines, from push notifications to generative AI. We design, manufacture, and service the products and solutions that keep the world connected. With $6.9 billion in sales, a strong customer base and global reach spanning nearly 70 countries, we are uniquely positioned to deliver greater value to our customers and create new opportunities for our people.

We are currently seeking a Supervisor IT Data Analytics to join our dynamic team in Piove di Sacco (PD), Italy!

The Data Analyst Supervisor leads a team of data analysts (on-site and globally distributed) within the Customer Insight function, reporting to the Senior Manager Marketing Data Science. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, project ownership, and deep technical contribution.

The supervisor owns the full BI delivery chain, from designing and optimizing ETL pipelines in Snowflake (in partnership with IT) through building robust Power BI data models and semantic layers, to delivering polished reports and apps to the right audiences. A critical part of the role is ensuring proper data governance: every stakeholder sees only the information they are authorized to access, based on business policies, organizational structure, and regional scope.

Beyond technical delivery, the role carries strong project management accountability: scoping, planning, and driving multiple concurrent BI initiatives from concept to production. The supervisor acts as the key bridge between the data team and the wider business, translating requirements Marketing and other functions into scalable, well-architected analytics solutions.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable mentoring junior analysts, challenging a data model design, presenting insights to senior leadership, and building long-term strategic relationships across regions and functions to keep data solutions aligned with where the business is heading.

What kind of work will you be doing?

Team Leadership & Project Management (40%):

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Plan and prioritize team workload, balancing recurring reporting activities with strategic BI projects.
  • Manage BI projects end-to-end: scoping, planning, execution, delivery, and post-launch optimization.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set development goals, and support career growth of team members.
  • Establish and maintain consistent methodologies, standards, and documentation across the team.
  • Gather requirements and align priorities with stakeholders across IT, Sales, Finance, and Operations.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with cross-regional and cross-functional partners to drive long-term alignment and unlock collaboration opportunities.

BI Architecture & Hands-On Delivery (30%):

  • Own the BI architecture and semantic layer design, partnering with IT on platform-level decisions and infrastructure while retaining ownership of the analytics and reporting layer.
  • Design and optimize the data flow from source to consumption: ETL pipelines in Snowflake, Power BI datasets, report delivery to end users.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports: advanced DAX, data modeling, calculated tables, and performance optimization.
  • Define and manage data access and visibility rules across all reports and apps, ensuring that each stakeholder and audience sees only the information they are authorized to access, based on business policies, organizational roles, and regional scope.
  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and consistency across all BI outputs.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, automation, and self-service capabilities.

Surveys & Voice of Customer (20%):

  • Coordinate the team's VoC activities, overseeing survey design, execution, and analysis using Qualtrics across regions.
  • Ensure VoC results are translated into actionable insights that inform product, sales, and marketing decisions.
  • Guide the integration of survey data into the broader BI ecosystem to enrich reporting and segmentation.

AI/ML Support (10%):

  • Provide support to AI/ML initiatives when needed, contributing expertise on data readiness, quality, and pipeline integration.
  • Help the team explore opportunities to apply advanced analytics and automation to existing processes.

What will make you successful?

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related).
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, BI development, or analytics roles.
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating a team (even informally).
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI: complex data models, DAX, workspace governance, app deployment, and audience-based access management.
  • Solid SQL skills: writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
  • Experience designing or managing ETL/ELT pipelines and understanding of data architecture principles.
  • Experience with data governance, access control, and compliance in BI environments.
  • Strong project management skills: ability to run multiple concurrent projects with clear timelines and deliverables.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication: ability to influence without authority across functions and regions.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Python for data manipulation, automation, or analytics.
  • Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey platforms.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and tools.
  • Experience in a global, matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of marketing analytics, customer segmentation, or pricing analysis.

What we are looking for:

  • A hands-on leader who can switch between strategic thinking and getting into the detail.
  • Strong ownership mentality: takes accountability for delivery quality and team performance.
  • Ability to build trust and develop strategic relationships across regions and functions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-changing, global environment.
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates issues and drives continuous improvement.
  • Availability for international travel.
