We’re looking for a Supervisor In Charge for AL/MC:

In this position, the Supervisor In Charge provides administrative support including scheduling and conducting care plans, completing non nursing audits and forms, coaches team members, and is a peer coach for the floor staff.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Represents the campus in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for residents and employees Works within the campus programs to promote safety and the well-being of all residents and employees.
2. Upholds the campus’s Mission Statement.
3. Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcare information pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.
4. Organizes and supervises the direct care staff comprised of CNAs and Med Techs in their assignment of daily and weekly tasks and ensures that all duties are completed for assigned shifts.
5. Reports items / incidents for disciplinary action to the Director of Nursing Services and provides support in evaluations of care staff performance.
6. Reviews, organizes and amends resident charts and care plans.
7. Reviews, organizes and amends all MARs and physician’s orders for Administers prescription medications at the appropriate times for assigned unit during shift. Signs off on all medications at the time of administration when necessary.
8. Transfers all new prescriptions to the MAR from the physician’s orders or admission orders such as a Fax of all prescription orders to the pharmacy at the time of resident admission.
9. Attends care plan meetings and assists care plan team with care plan assessments as needed.
10. Assists resident with the activities of daily living which include but are not limited to personal hygiene, social and wellness activities, dining, safety and evacuations, bathing, dressing, and transporting when necessary.
11. Performs assessments on the residents at the assigned times and notes in the proper chart and on the vigilan computerized assessment tool any changes, unusual occurrences or reactions to medications or the environment.
12. Takes and records vital signs for residents.
13. Assesses equipment needs for the direct care staff and healthcare buildings, passing along any concerns or needs to the Director of Nursing Services.
14. Interfaces with the physicians, hospitals, case workers, pharmacies, therapy groups, healthcare agencies, and other professional healthcare representatives as required.
15. Acknowledges and follows the Resident Bill of Rights.
16. Responsible for Staffing CNAs and Med Techs.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Occasional travel may be required for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.
2. Responsible for knowledge of fire and safety procedures including those involving blood-borne pathogens and all disaster preparedness procedures.
3. Remains in proper attire at all times and maintains a high standard of appearance.
4. Maintains professional development by attending in-service and continuing education programs.
5. Trains in elopement procedures.
6. Provides assistance to residents in the dining room including serving, bussing, order taking, and the refilling of beverage containers.
7. Confirms doctor appointments for residents and makes reservations for transportation as needed.
8. Changes bed linens for residents and cleans resident rooms and bathrooms.
9. Leads (if needed) and participates in daily activity program with residents, resident families and other staff members.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Healthcare Administration.
11. Responsible as Administrator in Charge in the absence of the Director of Healthcare Administration when assigned.
12. Will be required to work weekends.

PREREQUISITES

A. Education

• High school graduation or GED required.
• Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Current certification as Medication Technician preferred.

B. Direct Previous Experience

• Two years' experience in a similar healthcare position desired.

C. Skills

• Ability to work with minimal or close supervision.
• Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) plus the willingness to learn other computer programs if required.

D. Abilities

• Work indoors for the majority of the workday (fluorescent lights, HVAC system, carpeted and tile flooring, normal office noise levels).
• Climb up to two flights of stairs occasionally.
• Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head.
• Move objects of 40 pounds or less.
• Ability to work in time-sensitive or stressful situations.
• Exposed to physical/verbal abuse by certain residents under mental or physical impairment.
• Exposure to needles, infections, wounds, medical equipment, and the like.
• Sit in a chair / stand for extended periods.
• Respond to medical emergencies in all areas of the campus.
• Assist with resident evacuations.
