King County Parks is thrilled to offer a temporary leadership opportunity for a dynamic candidate who can balance guiding a team with understanding the hands-on work of frontline Parks operations. As a Supervisor II in a Special Duty Assignment (SDA), you will help advance our mission to steward and enhance public spaces for the community. In addition to the current opening, this recruitment may be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to fill future temporary Supervisor II openings within the Parks Division or throughout the Department of Natural Resources & Parks (DNRP) over the next six months.
In this role, you will help shape the daily work of your Park District by planning, coordinating, and supporting the operations that keep our parks thriving year-round. As a Supervisor II (SDA), you will guide staff development, communicate project priorities, uphold core values, and ensure essential administrative work runs smoothly. With a mix of natural areas, active recreation spaces, and trail systems to care for in every season, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining vibrant parks that serve the entire community.

The Operations Team is made up of approximately 180 full-time staff and over 100 temporary employees, all supporting a wide range of services that provide meaningful experiences at every level of the organization. Physical Requirements: Ability to traverse uneven surfaces in all weather conditions.
Workplace Exposures: This position requires the ability to work inside/outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, inclement weather while at various heights and/or within confined spaces, at all Parks facilities and other adverse conditions such as high-volume noise, dust and heavy traffic.
