This is a Full Time position with a typical schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM.

BASIC FUNCTION: The Housekeeping Supervisor has overall responsibility for all aspects of the housekeeping and laundry departments and staffs. This includes all scheduling, quality control, and inspection of all responsible facilities from a cleanliness standpoint.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises all facility housekeeping, custodial, and laundry staffs.
  • Maintains proper staffing level to meet the needs and requirements of each facility as determined by each facility administrator and the Facility Manager.
  • Disciplines and evaluates the performance of all housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Always interacts and communicates with staff and in the assurance of the highest level of quality services by the housekeeping and laundry department.
  • Conducts regular inspections of all facilities, Villa & PACE Reasner. Documents all inspections on Supervisor Report Form for review with Facilities Manager, facility administrator and Center Director.
  • Stays current with the status of apartment vacancy, coordinates with maintenance, sales and admissions to ensure vacated units are cleaned properly and ready for move-in as needed.
  • Ensures the proper operation and maintenance of all housekeeping and laundry equipment.
  • Conducts linen surveys as required in all facilities to ensure quality of work, quality of the linen, and appropriate levels of supply.
  • Develops monthly staff schedules to assure proper levels of service to meet the needs of each facility, Residents, Participants, and staff members. Follows up to evaluate work performed and its quality.
  • Provides feedback to staff when work does not meet appropriate standards and/or schedule.
  • Monitors all housekeeping and laundry chemical usage to ensure products are being used properly, economically and safely.
  • Coordinates all chemical purchases in housekeeping and laundry, across all facilities, to maximize product leverage by pursuing common usage and bulk ordering.
  • Conducts and documents regular meetings with staff ensuring required skill and regulatory training requirements are met.
  • Ensures that staff members know, understand and adhere to all dress codes and wear name badges at all times.
  • Evaluates condition of all draperies. Coordinates with drapery company, as needed, to facilitate cleaning or replacement of draperies.
  • Reports unsightly or unsafe conditions of floor covering, carpeting or vinyl, to facilities manager to ascertain special services or replacement which may be required.
  • Solicits Resident input as to level of services, suggestions or complaints.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by Facilities Manager, Administrators, or CEO.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to read, speak and write in English.
  • Able to communicate with staff and Residents.
  • Must understand all laws and regulations governing housekeeping in health care and long term care facilities.
  • Strong and effective supervisory skills and style essential.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years in housekeeping supervision.
  • Experience with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Bloodborne Pathogen Laws, Infectious Waste Regulations, Title 22, and other applicable laws for health care and long term care facilities.
