Coordinates and facilitates workflows for assigned staff in the Hospital Health Information Management (HIM) department. Monitors and supervises the clerical support staff to ensure compliance with all policies and Health Information standards. Responsible for managing the department in the absence of the HIM Manager/Director. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) from an accredited
school or college
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year working experience in Hospital Health Information Management department or
similar functions in a health care setting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated leadership experience in HIM Department or similar health care
setting.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NA
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
