The Supervisor Gift Shop is responsible for coordinating all Gift Shop activities and procedures while upholding the highest degree of customer service. Has direct oversite of gift shop employees. Responsible for the overall sales, profitability, purchasing, visual merchandising, operations and maintaining the POS system.

Essential Functions

• Selects and orders merchandise in conjunction with management.
• Receives, prices, and displays new merchandise.
• Files claims with vendors for damaged and defective merchandise and insures credit is received.
• Processes invoices for payment.
• Supervises gift shop staff and volunteers, including hiring paid staff and preparing work schedules.
• Rings up sales and processes merchandise returns, as needed.
• Insures completion of Daily Receipts reports.
• Supervises inventory of merchandise.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) - Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with employees, vendors, visitors, patients, and volunteers.
• Must be able to comprehend and also prepare financial reports.
• Must be able to research and correct (when possible) overages/shortages of cash by using cash register tapes, credit card sales reports, and payroll deduction forms.
• Must use sound judgment in maintaining appropriate inventory levels and when reordering merchandise.
• Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Decorating skills needed to set up attractive displays of merchandise.
