
The Fulfillment Supervisor (Shipping & Receiving) provides frontline leadership for both inbound and outbound operations at the Obetz facility. This role is responsible for overseeing receiving, inventory movement, picking, packing, and shipping activities to ensure service levels, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency are consistently achieved.
As an exempt leader, this position exercises independent judgment in labor deployment, workflow coordination, dock scheduling, and performance management across both inbound and outbound functions. This role plays a critical part in maintaining throughput, protecting inventory integrity, and ensuring on-time order fulfillment in a high-volume environment.
Direct leadership of fulfillment associates, including seasonal workforce scaling
Ownership of inbound and outbound KPIs: productivity, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, safety, and on-time shipping
Execution of WMS-driven receiving and fulfillment processes
Oversight of dock operations, material flow, and inventory movement
Frontline safety, compliance, and audit readiness
Lead all inbound and outbound operations including receiving, unloading, inspection, put away, picking, packing, and shipping
Ensure inbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently within dock-to-stock targets
Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and shipped on time
Coordinate dock schedules, carrier arrivals, and outbound shipping flow to prevent delays or congestion
Monitor workflow across inbound and outbound areas and remove operational bottlenecks
Drive shift-level performance metrics including productivity, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, and service levels
Monitor operational dashboards and communicate expectations during shift huddles
Identify performance gaps and implement real-time corrective actions
Support labor cost control through effective workforce planning and utilization
Supervise, coach, and develop frontline associates and leads
Conduct performance evaluations and administer corrective action when necessary
Support onboarding and training of new hires and seasonal employees
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety
Partner with HR on attendance, retention, and employee relations
Partner with Inventory Control to maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Collaborate with Transportation and Shipping teams to ensure smooth outbound flow
Communicate volume forecasts, capacity constraints, and operational risks proactively
Support peak readiness planning and staffing ramp execution
Enforce adherence to all safety policies and operational procedures
Promote compliance with GMP and food safety standards (as applicable)
Maintain dock, staging, and fulfillment areas in audit-ready condition
Address safety concerns immediately and promote a proactive safety culture
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent operational leadership experience
3–5 years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, shipping/receiving, or distribution operations
2+ years of direct supervisory experience in a high-volume environment
Experience managing both inbound and outbound operations preferred
Working knowledge of WMS systems, inventory control, and shipping processes
Strong analytical skills with experience tracking operational KPIs
Proven ability to lead teams and make independent operational decisions
Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons
Experience in food production, CPG, or high-volume direct-to-consumer fulfillment
Experience working with carriers, dock scheduling, and vendor compliance
Bilingual capability aligned to workforce demographics
Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement methodologies
Operationally disciplined with strong attention to detail
