Job Responsibilities
While the Supervisor may not be required to manage all the stated Job Responsibilities simultaneously, he/she must be prepared to prioritize and assume them, as and when directed by the Assistant Manager, Senior Manager, and/or Director of Facilities.
Assist D/ SM/ AM in monitoring the performance and maintaining all related Fire Systems and equipment to ensure uninterrupted services to the property.
Assist the D/ SM/ AM to oversee any other systems or equipment as assigned accordingly.
Assist D/ SM/ AM to manage, plan all related preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with the safe practices as defined in the Singapore Standard and / or authority requirement and guidelines.
Ensure all maintenance activities carried out timely by contractors for all related equipment and system are done according to maintenance plans and standards through close coordination, planning and supervision.
Ensure all Work Orders (WO) are closed on time, as required.
Ensure all maintenance and test records are documented and stored properly.
Responsible for implementing and enforcing safe work practices and establishing and updating the activity-based Risk Assessment for the team.
Responsible for requesting and procuring of all essential equipment, tools, spares and supplies to support the work.
Ensure the spares and supplies inventory are kept in a healthy state and updated regularly.
To actively be involved with managing the sections’ budget allocation and to keep track and document all expenses.
To be able to initiate and propose essential improvements to the Fire Systems, which include planning, documentations and effective project management.
To be on 24/7 readiness for any emergency calls for Fire Systems related issues.
Manage Senior Technicians and Technicians on routine maintenance and urgent repair works in accordance to best engineering practices while adhering to occupational health and safety regulations.
Create SOP’s / Training materials related to Fire Systems.
Cross-functional Support for Fire Life Safety Team.
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
Relevant Employment Certificate or Work Testimony. Specialized Certifications will be an added advantage.
Relevant Diploma in a recognized tertiary institution. Candidates with lesser qualifications but more years of relevant working experience may be considered.
Experience
At least three years of solid hands-on practical working experience in any Hotel, MICE, Retail or Museum on Fire and Life Safety systems.
Understanding of local regulations, standards and ordinances related to Fire and Life Safety.
Preferably experience working outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to fatigue, noise, dust, and be able to access all areas of the property including those at height and must be comfortable to work in indoor and outdoor environment; not limited to fatigue.
Other Prerequisite
Have a good command of oral and written English.
Computer literate.
Possess good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills, with an eye for details.
Possess good understanding of Fire and Life Safety Systems.
Able to foster good teamwork amongst fellow Team Members.
Be able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as under pressure.
Be able to plan, organize, prioritize various work tasks to meet the objectives.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. Able to deal effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts when working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to Departmental and Company policies.
Be willing to work any day of the week and any shift, long hours when necessary.
Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods or prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling without restrictions.
Have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
