Job Description

Job Title: Production Supervisor- Fabrication

The Production Supervisor - Fabrication is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently, safely, and on schedule. The role includes supervising and motivating production staff, coordinating workflow, monitoring quality standards, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance regulations.

Responsibility:

  • Supervise and coordinate production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets
  • Monitor production schedules, inventory levels, and machine utilization, always seeking continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead, train, and develop production staff, including operators, labourers, and lead hands
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment to maintain high employee morale and performance
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications by closely monitoring the production process, conducting regular inspections and audits when required
  • Lead training and ensure adherence to company policies including; health & safety, quality, and 5S
  • Act quickly to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to production, equipment malfunctions, or process inefficiencies, working with maintenance as needed
  • Participate in plant opening and lockup procedures as required
  • Provide daily and weekly reports to management on production status, productivity, and any concerns
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Ensuring that employee work hours are accurately recorded and approved for payroll processing. This includes verifying overtime, regular hours, and any discrepancies.
  • Monitoring and managing employee absences such as vacation, sick days, or leaves of absence. This involves tracking trends, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining sufficient workforce coverage.

Academic/Educational Requirements:

  • A high school education diploma or certificate is preferred

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience is required
  • 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role is required
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, safety standards, and quality control procedures
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong organization, time management and planning skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer software (Microsoft Office, ERP systems etc.)
  • First aid certification is required

    Working Conditions:

  • Night shift, hours 4:00pm-2:30am
  • Standard 40 hours per week
  • Manufacturing facility, production floor
  • Noise exposure
  • On-site from Mondays to Thursday
