Every other weekend and holiday

supervisor experience, EVS and computer knowledge a must!

Night pay after 7:00pm a plus!

A Brief Overview

Responsible for providing efficient and effective guidance and broad supervision of all staff in the Environmental Services Department. This position coordinates functions, activities, and schedules, solves procedural problems and is required to make independent decisions concerning urgent infection control needs

What you will do

  • Validates all cleanliness functions are performed as intended and are properly documented. Develops and motivates employees to accomplish department objectives to ensure the facilities are safe, clean and comfortable, and detecting unsatisfactory process trends. Initiate necessary action and development of plans to make corrections to procedures with the support of the Environmental Services Manager.
  • Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Quality Assurance Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines or as may be required by the law.
  • Communicates with the staff frequently and reports feedback in a timely fashion to the Environmental Service Manager.
  • Assumes routine daily management responsibilities in the absence of the Environmental Service Manager/Environmental Service Director.
  • Participates in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the department.
  • Coordinates the scheduling process, maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiency, and uses necessary tools to manage patient needs.
  • Comprehends/interprets Avera policy and procedures and instructs staff appropriately for compliance purposes.
  • Audits internal and external sanitation for microbial swabbing.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • 1-3 years Environmental service/housekeeping/custodial experience; two years of supervision and/or an acceptable equivalent combination of experience
