Supervisor-Emergency Communications Services - MED-COMTo facilitate patient flow, transfers, admissions, and consults for emergency department patients. To initiate air ground medical transport and reception of EMS transmissions as appropriate. To facilitate pre-hospital requests during a crisis or disaster mode. To provide optimum critical/emergency care to sick or injured patients transported by aircraft or other vehicle to UMMC or other designated facilities.
High School Diploma/GED. Paramedic with two years of communications specialist i paramedic experience, or EMT/EMD with three years Communications Specialist I EMT/EMD experience.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: if emergency medical technician, Mississippi emergency medical technician required. If paramedic, National Registered Paramedic, MS Paramedic, and BLS, ACLS AND PALS required. NIMS 100, 200, 700 AND 800 required within six (6) months of hire. NRP required within 6 months of hire date. NAACS preferred. If paramedic, valid Mississippi State Department Of Health/Bureau of Emergency Medical Services jurisdictional medical control on file for UMMC emergency services will be obtained within one month.

Ability to maintain and comply with weight and lifting restrictions and requirements. Ability to respond and travel on short notice to remote site(s) as required.
