
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager, Development Engineering, this role is responsible for the supervision of Development Inspection staff involved in construction oversight of new municipal infrastructure and lot grading across various development projects. You will lead and support staff while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, Town policies, and industry standards. You will be responsible for administering consulting and construction contracts, including authorizing release of securities and holdbacks at project close-out. The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven professional with a post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a closely related field. A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Our ideal candidate has 5–7 years of municipal engineering experience, including direct development/construction experience and a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity, along with certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (OACETT); P.Eng. designation is considered an asset.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership in process improvement and service excellence initiatives. We are seeking an individual with superior communication skills, a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and technical standards, and excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
The successful candidate for Supervisor, Development Inspections will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).
This position offers a salary range of $118,280.17 to $147,850.22 plus a competitive benefit package.
