What you’ll do
Eaton’s Bussmann division is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Juarez facility.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating the maintenance operations. Provide maintenance and tooling support for the repair and upgrade of buildings, tooling, and equipment. Plan, implement, and direct all maintenance team members in an efficient and practical manner to maintain and repair existing tooling, equipment, and facilities. To meet objectives in quality, reliability, safety, costs and on-time delivery.
This individual recognizes areas of need and develops action plans to correct issues ultimately leading successful efforts to correct identified needs.
In this role, you will
- Develop, and maintain an effective workforce.
- Recruiting, supervising and training maintenance technicians
- Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees for the maintenance department.
- Review and track progress on service orders.
- Periodically Order all commonly used spare parts, supplies, materials and/or tooling and maintain an inventory.
- Frequency definition for preventive maintenance
- Routine definition for preventive maintenance
- Spare parts process to register as new parts on SAP system/Wesco
- Create/review LOTO specific procedures
- Create autonomous maintenance procedures
- Kaizen TPM
- Troubleshooting information
- Maintain equipment inventory lists (location area, services requirements)
- Accomplish on preventive maintenance in orders
- 5 Whys on high cost spare parts and continuous uses
- Mechanics parts documentation in drawings.
- Follow up in safety dispositive in equipment
- Approve emergency requisitions for replacement parts.
- Ensure that electrical and building codes are in compliance with applicable regulations, agency standards, and plant and corporate guides.
- Prepare proposals for recommended repairs vs. purchase or design of equipment and building, with estimated costs and bids. Confer with supervision in selection of vendors and contractors.
- Reviews costs and takes action to eliminate or minimize unnecessary spending including consumption of supplies and machine parts.
- Review technical articles, catalogs, and manuals in order to select or recommend improvements in maintenance operations.
- Maintain files on master blueprints, purchase orders, work orders and maintenance manuals and logs.
- Ensure that critical plant equipment such as boilers, compressors, heating and cooling systems, electrical, plumbing, are maintained in an efficient, operable and safe condition. Conduct weekly maintenance and inspection of such.
- Evaluate and recommend long-term needs in relation to major projects and equipment tooling enhancements and develops an action plan.
- Participate in lean manufacturing activities and coordinate activities such as line changes and new line installations, with area engineers and mechanics to minimize production down time.
- Plan, organize, and direct the tool room work flow to insure production of the tools needed to produce the quantity and quality of parts and products to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance and grounds activities with other departmental supervisors and contractors.
- Evaluate new tool technology methods and processes to insure efficient operation and quality parts.
- Consult with plant engineering on new tooling and existing tooling modification.
- recognize areas of need and develops action plans to correct issues ultimately leading successful efforts to correct identified needs.
- Protect the safety of teams’ members by assuring all safety and health rules by assuring all safety and health rules and standards are being enforced.
- Establish a “5S” philosophy within the department.
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Minimum 5 years of Background in maintenance rigorous manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance supervisory experience.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, building maintenance, construction, plumbing, heating and air condition, tool and die repair.
- Solid Works Knowledge
- Computer knowledge (Office: Word, Excel, Access).
- High level of communication skills,
- Bilingual English/Spanish
