Job Description

The Supervisor – Controls will oversee the day-to-day field activities of Controls Installers and Controls Technicians, supporting project execution, technician scheduling, safety compliance, material coordination, and customer satisfaction. This role provides direct field supervision and technical guidance while partnering with management to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and consistent with company standards.

· Coordinate and oversee daily HVAC Controls field activities to support safe, timely, and quality completion of assigned work.

· Schedule and assign work to Controls Installers and Controls Technicians, providing direction, follow-up, and technical support as needed.

· Monitor field work progress, identify issues or delays, and escalate concerns to management when additional support or decisions are needed.

· Support project execution by coordinating labor, materials, tools, safety equipment, and other resources required for assigned jobs.

· Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support for HVAC Controls installation, service, and project-related work.

· Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring field employees follow company standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

· Conduct field visits to review work quality, reinforce safety expectations, and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Support technician training, coaching, and development by reinforcing technical standards, safety practices, and customer service expectations.

· Assist with inventory, tool, fleet, and equipment coordination in accordance with company approval and purchasing procedures.

· Partner with management to support job planning, project quotes, estimates, and operational problem-solving as needed.

· Support Controls project startup, commissioning, functional/performance verification, and related project documentation, including as-builts, checkout sheets, verification records, and operation and maintenance materials.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical training, or equivalent work experience in HVAC, Controls, construction, or a related field preferred.

· 3 or more years of experience in HVAC Controls, field operations, installation, service, or construction, with prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.

· Not required.

· Solid technical knowledge of HVAC Control Systems, field installation, service practices, and construction operations.

· Ability to schedule, coordinate, and prioritize field work while supporting efficient use of labor, materials, tools, and equipment.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and escalate concerns appropriately.

· Strong safety orientation with the ability to reinforce company policies, jobsite expectations, and regulatory compliance requirements.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction to field employees and updates to management.

· Customer service orientation with the ability to support timely service delivery and professional communication with internal and external customers.

· Ability to coach, guide, and support technicians while reinforcing quality, productivity, and teamwork expectations.

· Knowledge of BAS/startup and commissioning practices, Controls documentation, as-builts, checkout procedures, and related project closeout requirements.

This job operates in both an office and a field environment. Must be able to sit, stand, walk job sites, and work around active construction or service environments for extended periods of time.
