This is a state-funded position sponsored by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system for children, adolescents, and perinatal women.
This position has an end date of August 31, 2027, but may be renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue.
A flexible working arrangement agreement will be required upon offer.
The Supervisor, Behavioral Health Support supervises a team of behavioral health care coordinators and clinical operations support staff supporting the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) program and related Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium initiatives. This role oversees care coordination activities, program operations, staff development, compliance, and stakeholder engagement to support high-quality behavioral health services for children and adolescents across Texas.
Team Supervision and Program Coordination
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate behavioral health care coordinators and clinical operations support staff
Develop and implement standards and procedures for referral, enrollment, scheduling, and community resource connections
Conduct regular supervision meetings with team members
Collaborate with TCHATT colleagues and school partners to reduce barriers and improve stakeholder satisfaction
Maintain confidentiality and appropriately escalate risks and concerns
Ensure team activities align with program goals and objectives
Advanced Program Administration and Care Coordination
Oversee all phases of care coordination activities
Lead development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical program operations
Supervise staff supporting pediatric psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed counselors, and administrative personnel
Support families and patients navigating the TCHATT program
Facilitate connections to community providers for long-term care and support services
Operational Efficiency and Communication Oversight
Assist with development and monitoring of policies, procedures, workflows, dashboards, and training materials
Recommend operational improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Manage medical records and patient and clinician scheduling processes
Coordinate staff training and professional development activities
Oversee internal and external communications related to clinical services, discharge planning, and school collaboration
Clinical Documentation
Complete documentation in clinical records regarding interactions with patients, families, and service providers
Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with ethical, federal, and state requirements
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Conduct audits of communications, documentation, policies, procedures, and patient files
Document and report compliance concerns and initiate corrective actions as appropriate
Recommend technical and administrative solutions to mitigate risk and improve compliance
Marginal or Periodic Functions
Serve on interview panels for program-related positions
Monitor regulatory updates and communicate relevant changes to staff
Support internal audits and accreditation preparation activities
Assist with special projects and pilot initiatives
Provide input regarding staffing and resource planning

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field
Five years of experience in a healthcare or educational setting, preferably K-12
Experience working in multidisciplinary environments
Proficiency with systems such as Google Suite, Trayt, Slack, Athena, Epic, Calendly, or similar platforms
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Experience supporting behavioral health, care coordination, or student support services
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field
Five years of experience in a healthcare or educational setting, preferably K-12
Knowledge of managed care, medical terminology, referral processes, claims, and CPT coding
Experience working with pediatric behavioral and mental health populations
Knowledge of educational practices supporting mental health and social-emotional learning
Experience developing, refining, and evaluating patient care plans or student support plans
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
$56,649+ depending on qualifications
