This Position reports to:

Asst. Production Manager


Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to supervise shift team’s progress against work plans as defined by Production management to ensure the proper use of machinery, equipment, and assembly lines within a production area. Each day, you will provide regular feedback and make recommendations to management regarding issues within the production line, including production line organization, shifting priorities, and possible critical situations. You will also showcase your expertise by cooperating with the unit supervisor to create an effective work environment and reinforcing production schedules and quality.

This role is contributing to the Motion business for High Power division based in Vadodara, India

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Review monthly production plan and align internal schedules to meet customer inspection and revenue targets.
  • Monitor daily and monthly production output, analyze gaps, and adjust schedules to meet changing demand.
  • Monitor KPIs and ensure all production targets are achieved. Work on structural capacity improvements and manpower capacity to meet current and future business needs.
  • Track skill matrix and ensure regular skill upgradation of team members.
  • Manage manpower planning, including contract labor, to ensure smooth production. Handle workforce matters and address their concerns.
  • Lead and guide the production team to maintain productivity and engagement. Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, and delays.
  • Collaborate with purchase, sales, quality, and project teams to align production activities with business objectives.
  • Drive operational, tactical, and strategic initiatives to achieve business goals and foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications for the role
  • Full time engineering in Electrical or Mechanical with 8-10 years of experience.
  • Good in communication, continuous improvement, lean six sigma, understanding of VSM, VSD, lean manufacturing, FMEA, SMED, OEE, Kanban, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Line balancing, 5S, Capability Study, control plan, SPC, process map and exp in leading team.
  • Ensures integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities across all teams in scope.
  • Provides guidance to the teams and seeks knowledge for their own development and coaching/mentoring of the teams
