Job Title: Supervising Social Worker
Location: Wolverhampton
Pay Rate: £31 P er hour

An Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) in Wolverhampton is looking for a Supervising Social Worker (SSW) for their Fostering Service. The role involves supervising foster carers, addressing safeguarding concerns raised by a child's social worker, and providing emotional and practical support to foster families. Additionally, supervising social workers play a crucial role in recruiting foster carers, conducting assessments, and providing training before children are placed in care.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Ensure consistent communication among foster families, social workers, and foster children.
  • Conduct regular home visits and make phone calls to keep all parties informed throughout the placement.
  • Coordinate additional support for children, such as therapy or learning assistance, whenever necessary.
  • Support foster carers with meetings, report writing, and record-keeping.
  • Monitor each child’s progress in their placement and conduct required statutory visits.
  • Help manage and maintain contact between children and their birth families when appropriate.
  • Support foster carers in handling the emotions tied to these interactions.
  • Assess foster carers' needs for further training.
  • Guide them to enhance their skills, achieve personal goals, and meet high standards of care.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level, and have post-qualified experience.
