Superintendent / Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)

📍 Location: Philadelphia, PA (Federal Facility)

📅 Duration: 8 Months (Start: October 19, 2026)

📋 Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

💰 Pay Rate: $62-$65/hr

🏨 Per Diem: $2,500/Month

🎯 Completion Bonus: $150/month

💵 Pay Frequency: Weekly

⏰ Schedule: Monday-Friday | 40 Hours Per Week | First Shift

📈 Additional Schedule Details: Long-term federal project supporting electrical infrastructure upgrades, substation replacement, and commissioning activities.

The Superintendent/SSHO will serve in a dual-hat role, managing daily construction activities while maintaining full EM 385-1-1 safety oversight. The selected candidate will coordinate directly with project leadership, subcontractors, government representatives, and field personnel to ensure safe and successful project execution.

This role is ideal for experienced federal construction professionals with strong backgrounds in electrical infrastructure, substations, design-build projects, and government contracting environments.

Required Qualifications

✔ Current EM 385 Certification

✔ Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects of similar size and complexity

✔ Previous Superintendent experience coordinating subcontractors, schedules, and field operations

✔ Direct experience supporting USACE, NAVFAC, Department of Defense, Air Force, or other federal construction projects

✔ Hands-on RMS Experience

✔ Understanding of NFPA 70 Requirements

✔ Experience with electrical, substation, switchgear, or power-distribution projects

✔ Valid Driver's License

✔ Ability to pass military base access and project badging requirements

✔ U.S. Citizenship Required (Dual Citizenship Not Permitted)

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as the dual-hat Project Superintendent and SSHO
  • Manage daily field operations, schedules, subcontractors, and construction activities
  • Coordinate work with project leadership, subcontractors, and government representatives
  • Provide full site safety oversight in accordance with EM 385-1-1 requirements
  • Coordinate design-build construction activities
  • Oversee electrical service modifications and replacements
  • Manage electrical shutdowns and work sequencing activities
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, NFPA 70, UFC criteria, and installation procedures
  • Support equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Maintain project documentation, reporting, and compliance records
  • Support security, access, and escort requirements
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
