ABOUT Hermosa
Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Superintendent, Underground Development & Construction functions as the Construction Manager for major underground mining and infrastructure scopes and is critical to the successful delivery of the Project. The role is responsible for facilitating the safe, efficient, and timely execution of well-planned work through comprehensive oversight of contractor design, engineering, planning, management, and construction activities. This role works closely with contractors and internal stakeholders; oversees all phases of underground development and construction activities, including Shaft Surface Construction, Shaft Sinking, Headframe Changeover, Shaft Equipping, Shaft Station Construction and Development Breakouts, Underground Lateral Development, and Underground Infrastructure Construction.

ABOUT YOU
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Engineering or other equivalent qualifications and experiences preferred
• 10+ years of underground mining project development experience coordinating design and field installation;
• Relationship building skills: demonstrated empathy, emotional intelligence and cross-cultural effectiveness with the ability to achieve consensus and build alignment cooperatively
• Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
• Analytical, and capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team
• Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the engineering and construction teams on track
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
• Experience in scheduling, monitoring and forecasting resources for optimum efficiency
• Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
• Strong English language written and oral communication skills
• Drive company vehicle and be covered under company insurance
• Demonstrated ability of above requirements
