Superintendent – UG Planning

Responsibilities:

• Budget plan and tracking, forward building the year Budget plan and Budget mentor, Upskill the Engineering team that reports to the position;

• Oversee, direct and mentor the Short term, Mid Term, Drill & Blast Engineering teams and Liaise work with all other technical groups;

• Leadership, Training, Mentor and coach;

• Support training programs and assist in competency assessments;

• Provide feedback to Managers, Foreman, Technical Staff on Mine Performance;

• Share best practices and innovative techniques with the team;

• Safety & Compliance;

• Set the standard for safety behavior and hazard identification;

• Stop and escalate unsafe conditions immediately. Monitor and report on fleet-related expenses and performance metrics;

• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and Procurement teams to align fleet strategies with operational goals;

• Communicate effectively with management regarding fleet status, risks, and improvement initiatives;

• Stay updated on emerging technologies for mobile equipment and maintenance practices;

• Facilitate the integration of technology solutions to improve fleet reliability and operational efficiency;

• Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards.

Qualification Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mining Engineering,Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering;

• MSc / MEng in Mining Engineering, Specialization in Mine Planning, Rock Mechanics, or Ventilation.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

• Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in Mine Planning and Mine Planning Software and Scheduling Practices

• Exposure to Fleet management and data management

• Highly experienced in the use of Deswik

• Understanding of analytics

• Understanding Mine Budgets, developed them and able set up Mine Budgets

• Understanding developing Schedules based upon first principles

• Understand ground support installation and development practices - best practices.

• Strong understanding of Geotech and geology. structures and the various mining methods for different orebody types.

• Proven track record in planning and leading a mining engineering team

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.

• Experience in Drill and Blast designs and practices for Long Hole Open Stopping

• Continuous Improvement and tracking KPIs to hold the operations and team to account and to identify areas of improvement and development
