Salary: $76,980 - $98,134/year

Job Duties:

  • R esponsible for the management of designated county historic sites including Fort Osage National Historic Landmark and Missouri Town Living History Museum as well as the Kemper Outdoor Education Center.
  • S upervises 13 full-time employees including two site supervisors and one education supervisor; also supervises 33 budgeted seasonal associates.
  • R esponsible for creation, implementation, and accountability of two relevant operational budgets, totaling approximately $1.2 million.Further responsibilities include preparation of long-range strategic planning for the division and capital improvement master planning and implementation.
  • R esponsible for the collection management of artifact and other cultural material associated with designated sites; responsible for the development and implementation of special event programming associated with the sites and working with teachers and school districts for the establishment of educational programs consistent with applicable state standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, Degree in Education, History, Museum Administration, Recreation, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Six years of work-related experience.
  • Must possess/maintain valid Driver's License.
  • Must submit to/pass pre-employment background and drug screen.

Voters approved a revised Charter in August of 2010 to provide updates that included the County Ethics Code.
