Responsibilities:
Continuously improve the safety culture of the site.
Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
Ensure full compliance with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and isolation procedures.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits.
Lead and develop the Mechanical Maintenance team to achieve departmental objectives.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management for direct reports.
Drive accountability, teamwork, and continuous professional development.
Support succession planning and workforce capability development.
Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to company standards.
Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
Ensure maximum plant availability and equipment reliability.
Monitor maintenance performance indicators and drive continuous improvement.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for significant equipment failures.
Optimize maintenance practices to reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.
Ensure effective utilization of CMMS systems such as SAP or other maintenance management platforms.
Responsible for the maintenance and reliability of: Crushing and screening systems, SAG and Ball Mills, Pumps and pumping systems, Conveyors and material handling equipment, Thickening and slurry transport systems, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Lubrication systems, CIL/CIP process equipment, Compressors and auxiliary plant equipment, Water distribution and tailings-related mechanical infrastructure.
Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget.
Monitor expenditures and control maintenance costs.
Optimize inventory management and spare parts availability.
Evaluate and manage maintenance contracts and service providers.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising safety or reliability.
Implement reliability-centered maintenance principles.
Develop initiatives to improve asset performance and equipment life cycles.
Drive operational excellence programs and engineering best practices.
Participate in capital projects, plant upgrades, and expansion initiatives.
Support business improvement and cost optimization projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Certifications: Maintenance Management, Asset Management, or Reliability Engineering is desirable.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in heavy industrial or mining maintenance environments.
Familiar with relevant, mining, safety, engineering and health legislation.
Experience in industrial, remote site, or mining environments is highly preferred.
Proven experience in gold processing plants or large-scale mineral processing facilities.
Strong exposure to reliability engineering and asset management systems
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Efficiency with Microsoft word, outlook, PowerPoint and access.
English fluency is an asset.
