Job Description

Supervise, coordinate, and execute the daily maintenance activities in the Truck Shop

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Execute shift / daily level scheduling and work execution.
  • Manage current week’s break-in work and material requirements.
  • Minimize impact of current weeks planned and break-in works impact on the operations.
  • Work very closely with the operations to coordinate all maintenance activities.
  • Work very closely with the planner to minimize impact on the upcoming weeks plan.
  • Observe work procedures to ensure quality and safety of work procedures.
  • Coordinate and communicate with production department supervision.
  • Reviews action plans to address repetitive and catastrophic component failures.
  • Compile the field investigation reports
  • Furnish detailed completion history and comments to the planner.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety policies, collective bargaining agreement and other company policies.
  • Review Operation performance graphs relevant to maintenance.
  • Manage purchasing of operating consumables and parts.
  • Open and close Work Orders and Notifications.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Attend professional workshops with mining industry peers to determine best practices to enhance maintenance work processes at the mine.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge in the installation, replacement, repair, and improvement of pumping and piping systems and their associated tanks, valves, instrumentation, electrical and mechanics, and structural components.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to teach and mentor.
  • Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, drawings, prints, and schematics for installation, trouble shooting and repair.
  • Ability to lead and complete job assignments in a timely manner.
  • Mentor and/or train other electrical department employees.
  • Ability to be trained and to operate equipment including but not limited to scissor lift, man-lifts, forklift, boom trucks, and overhead cranes.
  • Applicants must have effective written, visual, electronic, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety related instructions and procedures given in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to think under stressful and adverse conditions.
  • Must have teamwork, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • The physical requirements of the position are considered Heavy Work: Exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The ability to work in conditions of extreme heat, extreme cold, and vibration. May involve work with or near chemicals including but not limited to airborne and/or skin exposure, high noise levels, confined spaces, and heights.
  • Ability to wear respirators in conditions of fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs, ramps, and the like with agility.
  • Availability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays (shifts may be rotating, operations are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year).
  • Provide and maintain the minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance and Material Management
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Sound understanding of MSHA, Safety, and Environmental regulations as they relate to the area of work.

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY

  • The job requires training or instruction in the area of environmental Awareness.
  • This job requires training or instruction in the area of Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate MSHA training.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· English language fluency.

· Must have High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
