This role will be designated for Discovery Land Company’s building division: Discovery Builders (Antigua & Barbuda), set in Barbuda, Antigua & Barbuda.

Discovery Builders (Antigua & Barbuda) is seeking a Superintendent to join the Construction Department. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all site supervision on designated construction projects.
• Partner with PM and ownership.
• Responsible for the execution of project from commencement through punch list.
• Assure customer satisfaction by creating a clean and organized job site.
• Create an environment of professionalism, respect, timeliness and accountability among the project team.
• Maintain overall project schedules.
• Produce look ahead schedules on a weekly basis.
• Coordinate subcontractor trades.
• Manage self-perform labor and labor forecasts.
• Track material procurement to ensure schedule goals.
• Manage punch list and turnover to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Evaluate project constructability.
• Provide input to PM for project schedules and labor forecasts.
• Ongoing support of community development initiatives to ensure coordination of efforts with operations and sales within the community.
• Client interaction; representing schedule milestones and project means and methods.
• Input project weekly reports for the PM.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial construction safety experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or Safety Management and professional safety certifications
• Formal safety training including OSHA 500 in the construction industry and training in scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, emergency response, fall management, excavation and confined space, rigging, hazardous waste and NFPDS/erosion control.
• Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Procore, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• General Contractor experience preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel to our Projects.
• Proactive and readily adaptable to changing conditions or demands and ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Thorough understanding of applicable local, state, federal (including OSHA), and company safety and environmental regulations, codes, and requirements related to the construction industry; ability to impart knowledge to others.
• Ability to work well with discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
