Superintendent

Location: Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore of Virginia
Industry: Luxury Custom Residential Construction
Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 + Vehicle Allowance/Company Vehicle Opportunity + Health Insurance Stipend

Our client is a quality focused, selectively growing luxury residential builder specializing in architecturally driven custom homes, high-end renovations, and complex estate projects throughout the Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore of Virginia markets. The company targets 4-6 projects annually, focusing on multi-million-dollar custom homes, large-scale renovations, and highly detailed residential construction where quality, communication, and precision are critical.

The company has built a strong reputation for transparency, craftsmanship, and delivering exceptional client experiences for homeowners.

They are seeking a Superintendent to support the execution of luxury residential construction projects in the field. This individual will work closely alongside ownership and senior field leadership while helping manage day-to-day site operations, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily field operations on luxury custom home projects and large-scale residential renovations
  • Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, and jobsite scheduling activities
  • Help maintain project schedules and ensure work is progressing according to timelines and quality standards
  • Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and homeowners as needed throughout construction
  • Assist with punch lists, quality control walkthroughs, and jobsite organization
  • Track project progress and proactively identify potential scheduling or field issues
  • Utilize Buildertrend, Bluebeam, and other project management tools to support scheduling and field coordination
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite environment
  • Ensure projects are executed safely and according to company standards
  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate closely with the project coordination team

Required Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of experience in custom residential construction
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Field Coordinator, Lead Carpenter, Project Engineer, Assistant PM, or similar field-based role preferred
  • Basic understanding of residential construction sequencing and subcontractor coordination
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to grow within luxury custom residential construction
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and adapt to changing project demands
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Comfortable utilizing construction management software or willingness to learn new systems quickly

Preferred Skills & Traits

  • Experience working on custom homes, renovations, or detail-oriented residential projects preferred
  • Commercial construction experience with strong field coordination background also considered
  • Hands-on construction background strongly valued
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving mindset
  • Team-first mentality with willingness to support wherever needed
  • Interest in long-term growth into Senior Superintendent or Construction leadership roles
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while working closely with homeowners and trade partners
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship and project execution
