Job Description

A Summer Office Worker at Northwest Mississippi Community College provides administrative and clerical support to campus departments during the summer term. This temporary position assists staff with daily office operations, customer service, record organization, and general administrative tasks while helping maintain an efficient and professional office environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
  • Greet students, visitors, and staff in a professional manner
  • File, organize, and maintain records and documents
  • Assist with data entry and updating office databases
  • Prepare copies, scan documents, and distribute materials
  • Assist staff with scheduling, emails, and general correspondence
  • Help maintain office supplies and inventory
  • Provide support for summer programs, registration, or campus events
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Computer application skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with staff and others
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a team

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to do the following:

  • Communicate with others in person
  • Sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, stand, bend, and squat
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
