We are looking for a Summer Trainee to join the Engineering department of the New Nuclear business area In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to be broadly involved in the development of Fortum’s new nuclear initiatives and gain hands-on experience in nuclear engineering and newbuild projects.

As a Summer Trainee, New Nuclear Engineering, you will participate in and support investigations and assessments related to:

  • Plant technology and nuclear concepts
  • Development of site infrastructure and site layouts
  • Site development and engineering management processes

Your assignments may include:

  • Participating in and contributing to investigations, assessments and tasks supporting plant technology development, licensing, site and site layout development, and engineering management tools and processes
  • Analysing licensing requirements and non-nuclear requirements and their impacts on plant designs
  • Supporting the development of technical requirements

The exact focus areas and assignments will be defined based on your background, experience and interests. The position is located at Fortum’s headquarters in Espoo, Finland

About you

We are looking for committed and curious students who are eager to learn and contribute to the future of clean energy.

We hope that you apply for this position if you:

  • Are pursuing a degree in Engineering (e.g. Energy Technology, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, Construction or similar) and have completed at least three years of studies
  • Have a good command of English, both written and spoken, as English is the main working language in our international environment
  • Have strong communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working with different stakeholders in a multicultural setting
  • Have a questioning mindset, strong sense of responsibility and motivation to learn new technologies and approaches
  • Swedish language skills are considered an advantage, but not required
