Summer Teaching Opportunity in Life Science Chemistry
Messina College is seeking an instructor for Life Science Chemistry. Life Science Chemistry introduces Health Science students to basic chemical principles in preparation for a discussion of the chemistry of living systems that forms the major part of the course. Topics in the areas of general, organic and biological chemistry are covered.
In Summer 2026, an instructor for one lecture and two lab sections of Life Science Chemistry are needed. The summer term runs from July 13 through August 21. Classes will meet at the following times:
Lecture: Monday through Thursday, 1:00 - 2:20 pm
Labs: Friday 11:00am - 12:50pm and 1:00 - 2:50 pm
About Messina College
Messina College is a new two-year residential college division of Boston College that offers an associate’s degree program for first-generation and low-income students. The program’s goal is to prepare students to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program or begin their professional careers upon graduation. Messina College students live and study on the Brookline Campus of Boston College and have full access to BC’s facilities and programs. Candidates should have experience teaching chemistry or life sciences at the college level. A Ph.D. or M.A. in a relevant field or advanced graduate standing will be considered.
Classes will be offered on the Brookline campus of Boston College. Part time faculty receive a competitive salary on a per course basis. In addition, part time faculty at Messina College have shared office space to prepare lectures and meet with students.
