Position Summary
The Supply Chain Summer Student will play a key role in supporting the Supply Planning team by providing analytical, reporting, and data management support throughout the summer term. This position is ideal for a detail oriented student who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and improving reporting processes.
In this role, the student will work closely with the supply chain team to maintain and enhance operational dashboards, support weekly and monthly reporting cycles, and help streamline data workflows. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with large datasets and will demonstrate strong skills in Excel, with working knowledge of Power Query and Power BI. This position offers valuable hands on experience in supply chain analytics, exposure to end to end supply chain operations, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful improvements in reporting accuracy, speed, and visibility.
Key Accountabilities:
• Support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc supply chain reports;
• Clean, transform, and validate data using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI;
• Refresh and troubleshoot dashboards and datasets;
• Assist in building automated reporting tools to reduce manual processes;
• Work with cross functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure reporting accuracy;
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and process consistency;
• Collaborate with team members on continuous improvement projects.
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in one of the following fields: Supply Chain Manager, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline;
Experience:
• Prior internship, co op, or project experience in supply chain, operations or analytics (nice to have);
• Experience with reporting or dashboard creation in an academic project or part-time job;
• Familiarity with process improvement concepts (asset, but not required);
Skills & Competencies:
• Comfortable working in Excel – able to perform most lookup functions and pivot tables. Power Query knowledge is an asset;
• Ability to work with large datasets, including data cleaning, transformation, and integration;
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques is an asset;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication skills;
• Experience with Power BI is an asset;
• Strong problem-solving abilities and curiosity with data;
• Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines;
• Comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification;
• Collaborative team player with strong communication skills;
• Able to work independently with guidance and minimal supervision.
Hiring Rate: CAD$20/hr
