As a Summer Student within the section Fire Safety & Environmental Technologies Sea, you will gain hands-on experience working with approval of fire safety equipment and pollution prevention equipment to be installed on ships.

Our team is responsible for the technical approval of equipment designed to protect lives at sea and reduce the environmental footprint of shipping. Working closely with colleagues in Norway, Germany, Poland, and other DNV Approval centres, you will gain valuable insight into how engineering, innovation, and regulations come together to support the maritime industry.

Typical tasks as a summer student would be:

• Support Approval Engineers with selected technical tasks of the approval work
• Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements applicable to large fleets of ships
• Collaborating with colleagues across DNV's international approval network

We are primarily seeking 3rd and 4th year students with relevant Bachelor/Master Program specialization in:

• Naval Architecture
• Mechanical Engineering
• Physics /Mathematics
• Industrial Economics

• Good communication skills in English
• Technical interest within fire safety equipment and/or pollution prevention equipment
• Good digital skills (data processing) is an advantage
