Looking for a summer adventure and a lifetime of memories? Look no further, Silver Bay YMCA is hiring, and we want you to join our team! Located in Silver Bay, New York on the shores of Lake George in the beautiful Adirondacks, Silver Bay YMCA is 700 acres of endless possibilities. Founded over 100 years ago, Silver Bay YMCA is a mission-driven Conference Center, Children’s Day Camp and Family Retreat that serves over 800 people per week during the summer season. Silver Bay offers a variety of activities to their guests, including swimming, boating, fitness classes, indoor climbing, high and low ropes courses, tennis, pickleball, archery, basketball, hiking, lectures, string quartet concerts, and a, arts and crafts studio.

  • Seasonal employees at Silver Bay YMCA start between May and mid-June, with the opportunity to stay as long as mid-November. Seasonal employees at Silver Bay range from individuals working their first job to retirees. Employees come from all over the nation and the world, creating a diverse staff.
  • Silver Bay is looking for employees to fill a wide range of positions, from camp counselors and lifeguard’s to kitchen staff, housekeeping, sports, arts, programs and more. For a full list of job positions view, Silver Bay YMCA’s seasonal employee booklet here.
  • Seasonal employees at Silver Bay are entitled to a variety of benefits including optional housing and meals for a discounted rate, access to all program areas, reciprocal passes, staff programming, scholarships, free Wi-Fi, free Laundry, discounts, membership, discounted day camp for dependents, and an amazing community of people.

General Information:

  • When identifying your arrival and departure date, please keep in mind that we are busy through Labor Day and preference will be given to those staff whose dates best reflect the needs of the YMCA.
  • Silver Bay does provide optional housing and meals for staff 18 years and older for a fee. Please see the Silver Bay's YMCA Seasonal Handbook for more information.

About Silver Bay YMCA Conference and Family Retreat Center

Silver Bay YMCA is a 118-year old conference and family retreat center on the shores of Lake George. Silver Bay hosts conferences, family reunions, family vacations, spiritual retreats, youth retreats, and men's and women's retreats on a 700-acre waterfront campus within the Adirondack Park of New York State.

Silver Bay has a variety of accommodations from private-bath rooms and shared-bath rooms in historic buildings to private cottages located on the periphery of the campus. Silver Bay offers accommodations to fit all groups’ needs and budgets.

Silver Bay also offers an array of meeting spaces to fit the needs of your group; ranging from quaint enclosed pavilions and historic halls to a 700 person Auditorium. As a courtesy to all conferences and groups, Silver Bay provides standard audio/visual as well as conferencing equipment and set up at no additional charge.

At the heart of Silver Bay are dozens of activities for all ages. Learn lifetime activities including archery, boating, crafts, music, nature, and much more.

As a membership organization comprised of 1500 families from the local community, throughout the Northeast and around the world, we offer a place for all. As a member of Silver Bay YMCA, you can swim and paddle on one of the cleanest lakes in the world; hike our many groomed trails, or relax on the Inn porch in one of our famous rockers.
