SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist in overseeing the onsite operations of a Clayton summer camp location by supporting the Summer Camp Coordinator in the
coordination and management of daily operations and programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver daily programming to a small group of campers.
- Follow all policies and procedures while supervising assigned small group.
- Follow all health, safety and regulatory compliance rules and requirements.
- Communicate with campers and peers regularly.
- Attend and supervise small group on busses, fieldtrips and during special events.
- Request supplies from the Camp Director team.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Attend all assigned training sessions.
- Maintain positive relationships with campers and other camp staff.
- Report all accidents and incidents and any suspected or known child abuse, neglect or endangerment to authorities.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
- Requires daily standing, sitting, bending and stooping
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision
- Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Requires the ability to physically move about the camp space and fieldtrip venues
- Requires the ability to read text and information and comprehend instructions and manuals

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to work flexible schedules when necessary.
- Complete 20+ hours of paid training/professional development, occasionally out of the area
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk
- Risk of exposure to childhood diseases
- Attendance at fieldtrips and waterparks with various environmental conditions, heat and weather.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Normal degree of computer proficiency using Microsoft Office
- Maintain annual training requirements as mandated
- Obtain current CPR and First Aid certification, provided by Clayton Youth Enrichment
- Actively engage in professional and personal development
- Conduct oneself in a professional, ethical manner, in accordance with generally accepted community standards and organization’s employee policies
- Ability to complete childcare background check process and preservice requirements
- This position requires the ability to present yourself in a professional manner, communicate, and listen to others.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least six months of experience working with children or in a childcare setting preferred.
