Job Description
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has openings for Summer Day Camp Program Aides for the Youth Center, located at our Mabee Red Shield location in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Assists Unit Director and the Assistant Unit Director for Programs with Summer Day Camp program. Interacts with children in recreational activities.

• Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure effectiveness and safety of members.
• Exhibits control of children and when needed, displays proper discipline techniques.
• Ensures productive work environment.
• Ensures that daily activities are in compliance with the Youth Center policies and regulations.
• Assists in preparing and providing field trips for children.
• Assists in organizing, implementing and evaluating activities and programs for Summer Day Camp Program
• Performs cleaning duties-taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming rooms and sweeping/mopping hallways or gym.
• May provide snacks to children.
• Assists and participates in regularly scheduled training sessions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of principles/practices of First Aid and CPR
• Ability to ensure the safety of children.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
Education and Experience
• HS diploma or GED AND two years of experience working with children OR and equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications/Licenses
CPR and First Aid
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.)
• Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
