Job Description

The Financial Services Department at MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a Funding & Program Services (F&PS) Group Summer Intern to support a file migration and data management initiative. The intern will assist with the transition of documentation from a shared drive to SharePoint, ensuring files are accurately transferred, properly organized, and maintain data integrity. This position provides exposure to document control practices and financial administrative operations within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the migration of files and documentation from a shared drive to SharePoint.
  • Validate transferred files for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Organize and maintain SharePoint file structures in accordance with established naming conventions and standards.
  • Identify, track, and assist in resolving discrepancies, duplicates, or missing documentation.
  • Maintain logs to track migration progress and document issues.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure consistency and adherence to data management practices.
  • Provide general financial administrative support, including data entry, documentation, and reporting assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university degree program.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing large volumes of data or documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and identify discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or similar document management systems preferred.
  • Prior experience with data organization or administrative support is a plus.

Compensation

$23.00 - $27.00 per hour (based on year in school)

Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
