About Radians Inc: Radians Inc. has been in business for over 20 years. Radians has become a major leader in the safety industry by manufacturing high-performance Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the industrial, construction, and safety markets. We are hiring a Summer Intern Maintenance Worker to join our team. The Maintenance Intern, you are responsible for performing maintenance and repairs for the manufacturing facility. As a maintenance assistant, you will perform manual labor both indoors and outside. The individual will assist senior maintenance technicians and the VP of Engineering and Facilities. The Ideal person for this job will perform a variety of tasks, while none are too hard, yet the person needs to have a “hands-on” aptitude and embrace physical work. This opportunity will allow the intern to learn technical skills related to troubleshooting, and mechanical and electrical work in a distribution center/small manufacturing environment.

This position is a paid summer Intern opportunity. High School Graduates and College Students are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with performing daily maintenance tasks such as general cleaning, painting, replacing light bulbs, and ceiling tiles, and repair work for the manufacturing plant, and office areas.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site.
• Assist with routine maintenance around the building.
• Follows directions from supervisor.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Summer Intern Maintenance Worker

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
• Good time management.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with hardware tools.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.
• Must be a team player who can work independently, or alongside colleagues.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to occasionally sit, climb, or balance; the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee is occasionally required to work in high, precarious places; may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; extreme heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock; the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
