Starting July - Through Labor Day

HELP Foundation is seeking reliable staff who will remain local through Labor Day to support concession operations at the Lakewood pools. You’ll work side-by-side with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities participating in a Summer Youth Experience job-training program, gaining hands-on experience in customer service, food service, teamwork, and workplace professionalism. Ideal for students with consistent availability between 12 PM and 8 PM. Schedules vary between 12 and 13 hours a week and between 4 and 5 hours per shift. Its the perfect summer job, you can hang at the pool and then go to work or work and then cool off after in the pool!

Summer Concession Stand Associate (seasonal)

HELP Foundation is hiring summer staff to support concession operations at the Lakewood pools (Foster & Becks) while working alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities participating in our Summer Youth Experience. This is a temporary position running from early June through Labor Day.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages; process sales using Square
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service
  • Work side-by-side with Summer Youth participants as they build job skills
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area
  • Follow cash-handling procedures and agency rules
  • Assist with daily tasks such as cleaning, stocking, setup and food prep
  • Report incidents or safety concerns to the Site Leader or Weekend Lead


Requirements

What You Need

  • At least 15 years old with a valid work permit
  • Consistent availability between 12 PM and 8 PM as this short term assignment cannot accommodate conflicts such as sports practices, camps, or extended vacations
  • Commitment to working alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform basic food-service tasks
  • Basic computer, math, and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work with individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to pass BCI/FBI background checks

Work Environment

  • Indoor concession stand setting with moderate noise. Role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
