ViiV Healthcare is an independent, global specialist HIV company dedicated to delivering innovative new options for the care and treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS. ViiV Virology is a multidisciplinary in-house organization which spans the end-to-end discovery framework: target identification / validation / optimization, pre-clinical testing, and justification for candidate selection / conduct of clinical trials in humans.

We are seeking a co-op student to join ViiV’s Branford CT site to be part of our drug discovery engine to screen, design, optimize and develop next-generation anti-HIV bio-therapeutics for HIV treatment and functional cure. This is a highly unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team with top-notch scientists from both ViiV and GSK working in virology, protein engineering, antibody discovery, biochemistry, biophysics, computational biology (including AI/ML for biologics design), cell biology, and in vivo biology and translational studies, as well as external collaborators on cutting-edge technologies such as cell and gene therapy. The selected candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter and will be trained not only in various technologies in biologics drug discovery but also the overall process of how to transform an idea into a candidate molecule ready for clinical trial. This job posting is for a temporary role as an employee of Atrium on assignment at GSK. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on several factors, including skills, competencies, experience, educational degree obtained, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law.
In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirement.
Pay Rate Range: $22/hr to $43/hr
