Job Location Latin Upper School - Chicago, IL 60610 Position Type Seasonal Salary Range $16.00 - $18.00 Hourly

Summer @ Latin staff are the best in the business at helping kids build new friendships, inspiring their curiosity, and extending their learning beyond the classroom while having a legendary time doing it. There is no more fun and exciting way to grow as a leader and professional than working with Summer @ Latin.

As Swim Instructor/Lifeguard, you'll provide instruction and supervision for children of varying ages and levels, participating in swim lessons while at day camp.

• Monday through Friday for 8 weeks, 30 hours per week, from June 8th through July 31st
• Hourly
  
  rate starting at $17/hr for swim instructors. Increased rate for those with current Lifeguard certification.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all class participants are visible and safe at all times
• Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants
• Ensure, and teach water safety.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by Aquatics Director

Qualifications

Requirements:

• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (certification classes sponsored by the camp will be available)
• Swimming background knowledge
• Thorough knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills
• Decision-making skills
• Communication and leadership skills
• Familiarity with American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels
