The PAC:
June 16- Aug 28, Ages 9-12
At The PAC, we empower kids to take the lead in their day, allowing them to choose activities that spark their interest and imagination! Whether they’re diving into group games, exploring their creativity through art projects, honing their skills at the skatepark, or engaging in friendly competition with board games, table tennis, and foosball, there's never a dull moment. We also provide exciting opportunities for off-campus field trips that encourage exploration and adventure. We are on the lookout for internally motivated individuals who are passionate about nurturing a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment for kids aged 9-12. Together, let's inspire the next generation to discover their passions and develop lasting friendships! This is a 5 day, Monday through Friday, camp that operates in shifts between 7:15am-5:45pm. Staff must be at least 18 years old.
Mandatory Training Dates:
· June 1, 10am - 4:30pm
· June 5, 9am - 12pm
· June 6, 9am - 4pm
· June 8, 9am - 1pm
· June 9, 9am - 1pm
· June 12, 9am -1pm
· June 15, 9am - 11:30am or 1:30-3:30pm (Site Set Up)
Operation Recreation:
June 22- Aug 28, Ages 5-8.5 years
At Operation Recreation, we believe that every camper deserves a summer filled with unforgettable memories and joyous experiences. As a camp staff for our young campers, you have the unique opportunity to spark their imagination and encourage them to embrace their creativity through fun arts and crafts, adventurous activities, field trips, and silly songs. We’re seeking passionate staff who are not afraid to be a little silly and goofy—those who can let their guard down and create a vibrant atmosphere where campers feel free to express themselves in possibly their first camp experience. Your willingness to embrace fun and embody the spirit of adventure will make a remarkable impact on each camper’s journey. This camp also includes 4 field trips a week to take advantage of the incredible outdoor recreation experiences Bend has to offer. This is a 5 day, Monday through Friday, camp that operates in shifts between 7:15am-5:45pm.

Requirements
What we’re looking for:
Education, Experience, and Training:
1. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age; AND
2. Currently attending high school; AND
3. Some previous work, training/certification or volunteer experience related to position; OR
4. Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training
License and Certifications:
1. Some positions may require possession of a driver's license and have 3 years of an acceptable driving history as defined by district driving policy.
2. Some positions may require possession of CPR/First Aide certification to be provided through on-the-job training.
3. Some positions may require certification related to assigned job to be provided through on-the-job training.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision is not a responsibility of this position; however, position may provide direction over volunteers and Recreation 1’s. Works under the general supervision of a supervisor. Receives ongoing and specific direction from lead and supervisory staff. Carries out work with some independence but work and decisions are typically reviewed prior to final execution.
Working Conditions:
· Depending on job assignment, duties may be performed either indoors or outdoors, which may include exposure to environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures.
· Work schedule is varied and may require early evenings and holidays.
· Ability to walk and stand for sustained periods of time with frequent climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.
· The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time.
· Physical exertion includes frequent walking, bending, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, pushing, pulling, and kneeling in order to deliver equipment and supplies and set-up and break-down equipment and facilities.
· Exposure to large crowds, uncooperative or difficult individuals, exposure to illness, and periods of continuous demand.
Selection Process:
Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. An offer of employment is contingent on the verification of credentials and other information required by Bend Park & Recreation District policies, including a background check and a driving history review when driving is required for position.
